We’ve going through projects at a brisk rate but still need volunteers and materials to help with some outstanding jobs.  We’ve got blocks but we need a blocklayer.  We’ve got paint but we need painters for another.  Roofing materials - for both flat roofs and pitched - are on our list, as are curtains.  Follow the link to see the short list, and see how you can help.                            Projects

People are needed to make Go M.A.D. a success.  See how you can help...                Volunteer

It’s common for High Sheriffs to spend their year in office raising funds for their favourite causes.

This year’s High Sheriff of Dyfed, David Pryse Lloyd, thought straightforward fund-raising would be inappropriate during an economic downturn.

He also wanted to help the many community organisations that work so hard to make our towns and villages such great places to live in.  It’s that sense of community that makes life in west Wales special.  Unfortunately, volunteers aren’t always easy to find and money is short.

The Go M.A.D. Project was born.  It means Go Make A Difference. It’s about volunteering.  It’s about communities working together.  It’s about local businesses supporting community activities by providing goods, services and people.  (Obviously money is welcome too!).

The Go M.A.D. Team contacted local businesses to help with the projects.  South Hook LNG and Milford Haven Port Authority immediately offered sponsorship, closely followed by Costain.

Then the Team contacted hundreds of community groups and invited them to send in an Expression of Interest, describing projects they needed help with.

More than 30 projects were put forward.  It was a tough task for the Go M.A.D. Panel to whittle them down to a short list of 15.

A number of projects have been finalised but the Go M.A.D. Team is still looking for materials, equipment and manpower to do even more.  The fund put together by South Hook LNG, Milford Haven Port Authority and Costain couldn’t deliver everything on everyone’s Wish Lists so extra help is needed.

   Can you help?

Do you have display stock kitchens, roofing materials or curtains that you could donate?

Do you have building skills and can you spare a day or two helping out on a community project?

Yes?  Then contact us and help Go M.A.D!

Promiting Go M.A.D. month, High Sheriff David Pryse Lloyd suprised theatre goers in Milford Haven by attending a preview of Robin Hood in full court dress.

Stop Press

When you’re self-employed and on the go morning, noon and night, it’s a real sacrifice giving up a weekend to do community work but that’s exactly what Bob Furze did.  He spent a full weekend tiling the walls of Clarbeston Road AFC - a great football club with no less than 15 teams!  Bob’s company is Trufix, telephone 01834 891522 / 07974 127815.  If you want any work done, Bob’s your man!!  It would be great if you could support him as he supports the community!
